Context. Belgian SMEs and freelancers spend disproportionate hours on bookkeeping admin — invoice intake, VAT classification, reconciliation. Existing accounting platforms automate the obvious, but break on the edges where most actual time goes.
What we built. Maia is an AI-assisted accounting workflow that ingests documents (invoices, receipts, bank statements) via a graph-aware retrieval pipeline, classifies them against the client's accounting plan, and surfaces only ambiguous cases to a human reviewer. ERP-aware: pushes structured entries into the bookkeeper's existing tooling.
Status. Live with pilot users in Belgium. Roadmap: VAT-return drafting, multi-entity consolidation, integration with bpost/Peppol e-invoicing.

Context. Founder-led F&B operator scaling from a single outlet to a multi-country group across Rwanda and Belgium. Capital constrained, regulator-heavy, post-Covid restructuring required.
What we owned. Co-led $3M equity raise. Built multi-entity IFRS consolidation across two jurisdictions. Implemented ERP across stores and central kitchen. Wrote and held the 13-week cash forecast through the Covid restructuring. Designed store-level P&L visibility down to daily revenue and food cost.
Why it matters. This is not a slide-deck case study. It's the reason our advisory work on store-level economics, multi-entity finance, and post-Covid restructuring lands — we did the work in the seat.
